These guidelines help us maintain a respectful, safe, and enjoyable environment for everyone on Geneva Talk.

Expected Behavior

We encourage all users to:

  • Treat others with kindness and respect, even when disagreeing
  • Be authentic—represent yourself honestly
  • Obtain consent before sharing personal details or moving conversations elsewhere
  • Report inappropriate behavior instead of engaging
  • Respect cultural and personal differences
  • Keep conversations appropriate and welcoming

Prohibited Conduct

The following behaviors are strictly prohibited and may result in account suspension or termination:

  • Harassment & Bullying: Any form of intimidation, threats, or targeted abuse
  • Inappropriate Content: sexually explicit, nude, or sexually suggestive material
  • Hate Speech: Discrimination based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or other protected characteristics
  • Impersonation: Pretending to be someone else or misrepresenting your identity
  • Spam & Promotion: Unsolicited advertising, commercial messages, or self-promotion
  • Illegal Activities: Any content that violates laws or promotes illegal acts
  • Privacy Violations: Sharing others' personal information without consent (doxxing)
  • Recording & Sharing: Recording, screenshotting, or distributing conversations without all participants' consent

Content Restrictions

To keep our platform safe for all users, we do not allow:

  • Graphic violence or self-harm content
  • Drugs, substances, or paraphernalia
  • Gambling promotion
  • Weapons or firearms discussion
  • Any depiction of minors in inappropriate contexts

Enforcement Process

When we receive reports of guideline violations:

  1. Our moderation team reviews the report promptly (typically within hours)
  2. We assess the severity and context of the violation
  3. Appropriate action is taken, ranging from warnings to permanent bans
  4. Severe or repeated violations result in immediate termination

Appealing a Ban

If you believe your account was suspended in error, you may appeal by contacting [email protected] with your username and explanation. We review appeals within 3-5 business days.

Updating Guidelines

We may update these guidelines periodically to address new challenges. Users will be notified of significant changes. Continued use of Geneva Talk after updates constitutes acceptance.
